During the treatment, using Ayurvedic facial oils, the therapist massages the whole face and the front of the neck with her hands and then with the Kansa Wand.
The top of the Kansa Wand is made from copper, zinc and tin. This metal alloy (Kansa=bronze) is known in Ayurveda as a ‘healing metal’. It is said to be more effective than gold or silver.
There are 107 marma points on the whole body, of which 22 are massaged during the treatment, on the face and neck.
Marmas are vital energy points/Ayurvedic pressure points and they correspond to internal organs and systems of the body, similarly to reflex points in reflexology or to the acupressure points in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This way the Ayurvedic Kansa Wand Facelift Massage leaves a beneficial effect not only on the face but on the whole body and the energy system of the individual.
Ayurveda means the science of life.
Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge
The art of harmonious and healthy living.
The two main guiding principles of Ayurveda are;
- the mind and the body are inextricably connected
- nothing has more power to heal and transform the body than the mind
Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s oldest holistic (body + mind + spirit) healing systems. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the above three. Its main goal is to promote good health, not fight disease. Ayurveda was developed more than 5,000 years ago in India. It was recorded in the sacred texts, called Vedas.
This treatment can be taken alone, or in combination with another treatment such as reflexology, Ayurvedic Foot Massage, Indian Head Massage or body massage.
